Tarot- the suit of Pentacles

Ace pentacles -

Notice that rim on the pentacle. There are two sides to this pentacle. Yes there is an opportunity, a gift perhaps. BUT you have to leave your comfort zone to make this work. I always with this acre going to have to step out of your comfort zone to achieve that pentacle on offer.

  • An opportunity is opening for you- but you must step out of your comfort zone to make this happen.

  • If you asked about job, money, health, home: be patient things will get sorted.

  • Great blessings for health, home, job, money… A new start in any of these!

  • Success, happiness and a sense of peace concerning physical matters (job, money, health..)

  • The birth of a new venture.

2 pentacles -

He’s turned his back on that stormy sea to try and get the balance right. We all need to pause and distract sometimes, to get back into the right mindset to face and solve life's difficulties.  Get the balance right-do you need a break, or have you been distracting for a little too long?

Uncertainty is our only certainty- learning to roll with it!

  • A lot is going on stay calm and focused then you can juggle this successfully.

  • Are you avoiding an important issue?

  • Life’s a bit of a juggle right now.

  • Relaxed, calm focus will help.

3 pentacles

The only black pentacles in the deck. This card is about your self-worth, and how you value yourself. Are you hiding your light under a bushel? To me this is working through our shadow issues, delving deep into parts of our self usually repressed or projected.

I often find the 3 & 8 of pentacles relate to work issues, though they may be referring to work already done, or the need to work at something.

  • Be confident enough to ask for fair exchange today- ensure everyone is pulling their weight (including you!)

  • Are you procrastinating?

  • A “work” card, creating something amazing. Not necessarily paid work.

  • “Work” that satisfies on all levels- do you know what this refers to?

4 pentacles –

The classic card to illustrate manifestation.

#1 Be inspired (crown chakra)

#2 Connect emotionally to your dream (heart chakra)

#3 Do the work to make this happen (soles of the feet).

Yes it ca relate to the miser, someone obsessed with the material world, but every card has a positive message, a gift of learning for us.

  • You need firm plans, to be well organised and pay attention to details.  Conserve money & energy.

  • Be prudent and pay attention to details.

  • A card of financial security. In times of chaos useful; but reminding you enough is abundance.

  • Your finances and health are enough

5 pentacles –

Lets be honest, know one really likes this card. Look really closely at the pentacles in the window, you can see the base of the 6th pentacle.  There is growth promised, even in these difficult times.

This is a difficult card (despite the optimism of better times promised) it speaks of lack, feeling left  out inn the cold, money not coming in time.

  • Conserve your money and energy and watch out for unexpected delays and problems.

  • Fear of loss should spur you on!

  •  Make sure you accept help when it is offered (you are worth it)

  • Focus on being financially honest- incomings and outgoings.

6 pentacles -

I know that many people see this card as generosity, and it can be. But honestly I don't like this card. Many people give out of generosity, but many also give as a subtle way to gain control or feel better about themselves (at the expense of the other person). Look carefully at the coins falling. Two seem to be given, two behind, and two still in the hand. I often see this card as "charity to control" giving to gain power.

  • Be careful that you are not trying to control others too much, or that someone isn’t trying a power play on you. Just don’t get involved!

  • Beware of you (or others) using generosity as a subtle means to control.

  • You have enough money and some left over; enjoy.

  • Be generous, and accept others generosity

7 pentacles -

“The Lord of failure” This chap is pausing to reflect on his potato harvest, and to choose which potatoes he wants to use as his seed crop next year. Or if you prefer mindset speak “if you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.”

So take the cue with this card. Pause to enjoy your harvest, reflect, plan. The key is in that ace of pentacles slightly to one side. there is genuine potential for growth, a new way forward- you just have to have a clear enough mind to see it.

  • Pause to reflect- what has worked well before. This is the key to success today.

  • Perhaps you’ve worked hard, and are not happy with the outcome? Take a pause and consider what next.

  • A time to reflect on what you’ve done. Enjoy your harvest.

  • Your hard work will be rewarded with a good harvest and the seed of a new idea.

8 pentacles -

Classically called the Apprentice card- it is the card of learning something. My eye is often drawn to the one pentacle on the floor- another “ace” hidden in plain site. Perhaps the same ace that was the seed in the 7 of pentacles.

The key with the suit of pentacles is not to get too comfortable in any one card. This is a suit of progression- once you’ve learnt that skill will you know when to stop? Will you know how to take the next step?

  • Do you need to learn something to help you get this done? Or do you just need to set aside time and focus?

  • You need self discipline right now.

  • A “work card” Apprentice; self-discipline and hard work.

  • Lose yourself in your “work” (not necessarily employment!)

9 pentacles -

I know this is such a favoured card with many. My eye is drawn to the hooded hunting bird. I wonder what this successful woman has denied herself to achieve this success, and when will she let her free spirit fly so she can enjoy her hard worked for “freedom”.

It is a powerful card of self discipline, skill, the ability to thrive and survive. But I do find her a little straight laced if I'm honest,

  • You have all the skills and resources you need to be successful- you now need self discipline and self-belief.

  • It is OK to accept help from others.

  • Security, self-confidence, abundance and independence.

  • Enjoy your success; you’ve worked hard to get here

10 pentacles -

This card seems overwhelming to me, with no clear connection between the people and the perspective slightly out. I can’t help but notice the tower framed against the bright blue sky. The two people either side-with red and blue clothing. There is a sense that this 10 is not always as stable as first seems.

  • Don’t allow comfort, or material focus to stop you form enjoying relationships & having fun. This card is reminding you to take time to connect to people.

  • Practice appreciation not accumulation.

  • Abundance, stability, firm foundations.

  • Financial abundance (even if only finding a lost £20 and enjoying spending it!)

Testimonials for my Shaman Healing

I was lucky enough to work with Siobhan Curham (published author) first using tarot & then for a shaman healing session. You may recognise me in her recent book "Something more- A spiritual Misfit's search for meaning"

"The shaman in the caravan was a no-nonsense woman with short, dark blonde hair and glasses....The shaman began drumming..and drumming. I'm not sure how long it went on for, I drifted into a deep state of relaxation, then finally she told me to come and join her sitting at the table.

I'm now going to tell you want I saw on my journey she said..."

I am very grateful to Siobhan to have chosen to share her experiences- they always belong to the client, and are never mine to share. She explains the process of a soul retrieval from the view of a client- and how it helped her move on in her personal journey.

"I returned home feeling light and happy.

A couple of hours later-while I was cleaning the dishes, bizarrely- a picture of the wild carefree person I could have been popped into my head and I burst into tears. Unlike the tears I shed the night before my parents split up, these tears felt cleansing. They were the kind of tears you shed when greeting a long-lost, much loved friend. "

Thank you Maddy, after over a year of trying to get to the bottom of my throat issues (including numerous modern medicines and alternative therapies), you managed to get to the root cause and clear it in one session!

I love how your healing is direct yet gentle but most importantly it's effective! You have a wonderful gift and I'm so glad you're sharing it with the world.

Working with Maddy has been and continues to be a very special and sacred experience for me. Maddy's intuitive wisdom speaks from an ancient knowing source and her many years of practice and dedication to her own self work provide the safe and professional container. I feel held, heard and supported when we journey into the deep recesses of my shadow and beyond into the other parts of my psyche and indeed into other unworldly realms. I am profoundly changed through this work, more alive and more awake and more compassionate towards myself and others. It is an integral part of my inner work and I highly recommend Maddy as a grounded, empathic and secure guide.

Thank you so much for my session yesterday. I spoke my mind twice yesterday without even thinking about it, or offending anyone! And this morning I walked straight down the stairs without a thought of painful knees.

I feel refreshed and positive thanks to your healing hands.

I will be touch with regard to a soul retrieval session and would definitely like to try and attend your Wednesday evening sessions.

Thank you again Heidi x

My Shamanic Healing adventure

"I have to admit that I was not at all sure what to expect from a Shamanic Healing,  and as I had no preconceived ideas I was open to whatever was to happen.

Maddy made me very welcome and asked what I felt I needed help with.  I hadn’t really thought that through, but I did have a dodgy knee, which I didn’t mention, and I do need to loose some weight, which is pretty obvious, so told Maddy that looking at any issues to do with weight loss blocks would be a good idea.

First she scanned my body for any blocks/physic hooks, and found blocks around my knees, which she then removed. I immediately noticed a change in the pain level in my knees joints, brilliant. A great start. While Maddy drummed and guided me on a meditation, I had a really odd tight , but not unpleasant or painful, feeling in my stomach.  As the session continued it faded away.

At the end of the session I felt uplifted and energised. I had a fresh insight as to ways forward  with my healthy eating. Most importantly I felt confident something had shifted and changed. In the couple of weeks after the session I have found it easier to make better choices about amounts of foods to eat and have really benefitted from the new insights I gained in the session. I would thoroughly recommend Maddy’s Healing sessions to anyone looking to understand themselves better."
